The WISE Division’s October meet is Sunday, October 16, at the (Best Western Plus) Midway Hotel & Suites at 1005 S Moorland Rd. in Brookfield, Wis. The meet is FREE and open to the public. There will be three 45-minute sessions of clinics as well as the usual popular vote model contest and home layouts on tour from 4-6 p.m.
Due to a change in available space, there will be a limited number of swap tables. One table per person and please DO NOT arrive before 11:30 a.m.
Bring your models or photos to enter (entries accepted until 1:30 p.m.) for all categories. Note: this year there will be two rates for 1st Place and Best of Show winners: Non-NMRA members will receive a $10 certificate, while NMRA members will receive a $20 certificate.

Patterns of Weathering on Freight Cars (prototype photos)
Dave Nelson starts his two-part clinic with photos showing the wide variety of what “weathering” does to freight cars, with the goal of identifying certain general patterns that can be modeled.

Weathering Model Freight Car without Airbrushing
Dave Nelson continues his clinic with demonstrations of weathering techniques, with sample weathered freight car models in HO and N scales that will be passed around the room for close inspection.

Train Fun in Western Pennsylvania
Steve Miazga shows us a visit to Horseshoe Curve and a tour of the Carnegie Science Center Model Railroad.
Layout tour will be the HO scale C&NW Lakeshore Division which will be on tour for the first time. It features two large yards and an active interchange with the GB&W. It is a layout you don’t want to miss.
